Here is a list of 50 things I wanted to do as of last February. I'm pretty excited to be marking things off the list or at least feel like they are in progress.
After reading through my list I'm also kind of sad that I can't say that some of these are accomplished. This is a new year with big things a head of me. I'm looking forward to checking more off my list!
These are some that I feel are done or in the works.

Our second first date.
One year ago on Monday will be one year since we went on our second first date. :) Thinking back about the day and the emotions leading up to it is really pretty funny. We had only been talking to each other for a couple of weeks and Chris had been asking when we were going to meet up. I was totally dodging him but finally he talked me in to it. We planned to meet half way because at the time we were about 3 hours apart. We were meeting for lunch at Imo's (of course!) and I got there a few minutes early. I remember sitting there thinking that maybe he had something come up or he was standing me up and surprisingly I was totally ok with that. You see, I fell for Chris the first time we were together and I had no intention of letting that happen again. Well it turns out that Chris had been at the fire station and was just a few minutes late. As he pulled in to the parking lot and started to get out of his truck my stomach started to flip! I'll never forget the feeling I had as we hugged that (second) first time. Chris let out the sweetest sigh and I knew he was very pleased to have me in his arms. I remember thinking at that moment, uh oh, he's gonna get me again. We visited over lunch about the Sunday school class I had taught that morning and the night he had at the fire station. Side note: he came in his uniform, I think that was his plan from the beginning, he's seriously hot in his uniform. ;) We decided to go see a True Grit at the theaters that afternoon. So we walked around the outlet mall to kill time. Through talking to Chris in the weeks leading up to that day I knew something was different and he continued to show me that during our day. After the movie Chris suggested dinner and although I had my guard way up still I wasn't quite ready to say goodbye. We were at Lake of the Ozarks and the sun was beginning to set, it was a gorgeous evening. As we drove to dinner the truck was kind of quiet. It wasn't an awkward silence for me but I remember wondering if it was for him. So I asked him, he said no. It actually made me smile. We were both just happy to be in each others company. At dinner, looking over the lake and sitting side by side in the booth we talked more about how our family was and small talked some more. But then we talked about our relationship the first time and what went "wrong." Chris actually did most of the talking through dinner and he really did surprise me. He was so open and honest with me about everything. After dinner it was time to head back and get my car. We sat in the Imo's parking lot for a long time talking some more. The conversation was still mostly serious and even a bit deep. I remember telling my self as we started talking about heading home that I would not kiss this boy. (It was our first date, ya know) But, that sweet, handsome boy asked if he could kiss me and my heart melted. He got me again.
Maybe this story isn't really for the few readers of this blog, it's for me. I love thinking about that day and the other important stages from our quick changing last year. Chris is absolutely my best friend and soul mate. (Who else would put up with me, especially the pregnant, hormonal me?) I truly feel like Chris and I balance each other for the better.
Chris, thank you for an amazing year. You won my heart, married me, and now we're having a baby plus all of the wonderful little moments that fill in between the big ones. I love you!

Baby Wescoat: New Due Date
| Sweet little baby at 9 weeks and 4 days. Heart rate of 150. :) |
It kind of makes me laugh that I feel like my stomach is showing so much already. The first picture I took was when I thought I was 9 weeks and 5 days which now means I was only 6 weeks and 5 days. Goodness! We also wouldn't have went so public with our news if we would have known that we weren't quite as far a long. Oh well though! It's fun having family and friends excited and knowing that they're praying for us is amazing as well.
Well, now I need to go update my dates on everything! :)
Be a blessing to someone today!

devotions.
My dear friend Amy and I have been talking about starting a devotion. Both of us are really interested in doing one that focuses on marriage and being a Godly wife to our sweet husbands. Looking in to devotions is kind of overwhelming because there are so many out there and I feel it is so important to pick the right one.
We are also trying to decide if we are choosing the right subject. Does doing a bible study on marriage exclude others that may want to join in.
I guess I don't have a lot of thought on this right now but if anyone out there reading this has any input feel free to comment! I'd love to hear!
Oh and pray for us tomorrow! We have our first "official" ultrasound to do measurements and set the due date for sure! So looking forward to it!

Baby Wescoat: 12 Weeks (nope, 9)
How far along? 9 weeks (according to the new due date!)
Total Weight gain: 0 - back down to weight from the day I found out I was pregnant
Maternity Clothes? no, but I do sit with my pants unbuttoned any chance I get :)
Stretch marks? no, I need to invest in some cocoa butter lotion to continue saying no though!
Sleep? I can't get comfortable at night and I'm already having strange dreams. I didn't think that was supposed to happen for a while!
Best moment from last week: We got to see our sweet baby! It was absolutely amazing!
Miss anything? Coffee. Not really the caffeine I just really like coffee. Hello, Decaf!
Movement? No, but I have bad muscle spasms and they are slowly moving to my belly so I kind of wonder if I'll know the difference when I do feel movement.
Food cravings? Cold stuff. Chris went and got me sherbet push pops the other day. And oreos. Yum!
Anything making me sick? Nope! Feeling SO much better! Although I never really felt bad.
Gender? For whatever reason, I think its a girl.
Labor Signs? notta
Wedding rings still on? Yep, and I just happen to absolutely love my rings. Thanks hubby!
Happy or Moody? Happy, I feel like I'm generally in a good mood. Just tired in the evenings!
Looking forward to? An "official ultrasound" on Friday. Although, the doctor thinks I may be off on my due date and that I might not be this far along actually and that is kinda sad because July 23rd is really good timing for school. We shall see!

Baby Wescoat: 1st Doctor's Appointment
Ever since I found out we were expecting I just wanted to hear the words "Everything looks great!" I have been so anxious and excited but still very cautious. We finally met with our doctor yesterday and did find that "everything looks wonderful!" Wonderful is even better than great! Thank you, Lord! The doctor did a full exam and even did an "unofficial ultrasound." We finally got to see that sweet little one growing in my belly! And watch the precious little heart beating! It was such a neat moment that I have a hard time finding words to describe.
The comfort I have in knowing that at this point everything looks good really helps me to become even more excited and I am starting to grasp the reality of this. I'm going to be a Momma! I always joked with my mom that she would have a grandchild 9 months after I got married and although I was joking that isn't far off from reality now. I have always wanted to be a wife and a mother, I just didn't expect them to happen within one year!
Getting pregnant right away wasn't in "our plan" but obviously it was in God's. The shock and fear was very overwhelming for the first few weeks. As we began to slowly tell people it was almost hard to be excited. I kind of feel guilty about it even because its seems like its something that would bring excitement no matter what. Thankfully, the shock is beginning to wear off and the excitement is beginning to brew even more!
Chris has been nothing less than amazing since the moment he guessed that I was pregnant! (ha, yep he guessed, I can't hide secrets) He continually makes sure I am comfortable and feeling well. His excitement from the beginning has also been a huge blessing to me and helped me to be excited as well. Thank you, babe for looking after me and being so understanding!
Please join Chris and I as we pray for our sweet little baby!
Here is the ultrasound and a picture of me at 11 weeks. I apologize for the iPhone pic, that I look a little rough, and I'm wearing mismatched clothing. Haha!

Baby Wescoat: Week 11 (actually week 8)
I'm going to be a Momma! Ah!! Here's a quick update, a better story will come soon!
How far along? 11 weeks 2 days (8 weeks 2 days according to new due date! updated 1/13/2012)
Total weight gain: 2 pounds
Maternity clothes? no, but my pants are quite snug after I eat
Stretch marks? nope!
Sleep: I'm struggling to stay asleep all through the night. I'm exhausted most of the day so I don't have problem falling asleep but I'm waking up at 2:00 or 3:00 in the morning and struggling to fall back to sleep.
Best moment this week: Feeling like I look pregnant rather than fat :) Its getting better at least
Miss Anything? The simplicity of fixing a cold lunch meat sandwich for lunch.
Movement: Not for a bit longer. But it makes me smile just thinking about it.
Food cravings: Not really other than sweets but that's not all though strange for me :)
Anything making you queasy or sick: Raw meat smells especially awful when I first start cooking and eggs stink! But thankfully nothing is making me sick!
Gender: No clue! Although we both lean towards wanting a boy. I loved having an older brother so I think it would be great. But a healthy baby girl would be an equal joy!
Labor Signs: No way!
Symptoms: Tired and easily emotional
Wedding rings on or off? on
Happy or Moody most of the time: Generally happy with the slight strike of emotion
Looking forward to: Our doctor appointment tomorrow. Hoping to hear little baby's heartbeat!
Please pray for Chris, myself, and of course sweet little baby as we enter in to this great adventure!
