Baby Wescoat: 12 Weeks!

Sweet Baby Wescoat is the size of a plum this week! :)
How far along? 12 Weeks
Total Weight gain: unsure. Haven't weighed myself in a week or so.
Maternity Clothes? Nope!
Stretch marks? none!
Sleep? Still having those strange dreams and can't get comfortable but it kind of comes and goes!
Best moment from last week: Yesterday! Chris and I went to church and it was a great morning of Bible study and worship and then had the whole day together! Chris helped me clean the house which was a huge help and then we went to BassPro and walked for a bit and got a bite to eat. Then we finished the evening off hanging out with our friends the Sherrills! What a wonderful day!
Miss anything? Not so much!
Movement? Nope, but getting pretty stinking excited!
Food cravings? Cold things and chocolate. Popsicles are in high demand between my husband and I!
Anything making me sick? Other than kiddos at school, no!
Gender? Leaning toward a boy (this week at least!)
Labor Signs? nope!
Wedding rings still on? yes!
Happy or Moody? pretty good mood!

Looking forward to? Our doctor appointment on Thursday! The anticipation to hear the words "everything looks good" is always heavy on my mind!

Here's what baby Wescoat is up to this week!
"The most dramatic development this week: reflexes. Your baby's fingers will soon begin to open and close, his toes will curl, his eye muscles will clench, and his mouth will make sucking movements. In fact, if you prod your abdomen, your baby will squirm in response, although you won't be able to feel it. His intestines, which have grown so fast that they protrude into the umbilical cord, will start to move into his abdominal cavity about now, and his kidneys will begin excreting urine into his bladder."

growing with my husband.

I am so excited to share about this new journey Chris and I are taking. We found a devotion for couples at Mardel's a few days back and I can't wait to get started. I was sharing with Chris a week or so ago that I really wanted to find a devotion to do together. He took it on himself to help us find one which really meant a lot to me. The one we found is called Duets: Still in the Word, Still in the Mood. I read the forward on Sunday and it sounds so good. It's about couples of the Bible, the good things and the not so good things. I really like that. It shows us models to follow and also how to get through mistakes that other couples have made and we are bound to make as well.

This is something that is really important to me especially as we not only work on being a Godly husband and wife duo but Godly parents as well. I want our little one to grow up in a home that Christ's love is shown through every aspect of our lives.

I can't wait to continue sharing about this. Thank you Chris for taking this on with me and for being so quick to find the one for us!

Baby Wescoat: Week 11

Baby Wescoat is the size of a lime!!
How far along? 11 Weeks
Total Weight gain: 2 pounds
Maternity Clothes? No, I think the bloating I had went away and now I look smaller than before! Ha
Stretch marks? nope
Sleep? Getting much better and I'm not near as tired during the day as I was a few weeks ago.
Best moment from last week: Praying for the baby. I've started taking a few moments in the morning and setting my hands on my belly and praying. It really has turned in to a very powerful and sweet time for me.
Miss anything? The occasional soda (which I have to admit I've had a few here and there)
Movement? Nope
Food cravings? Just sweets. And we don't have to many around the house so it doesn't seem to be a big problem
Anything making me sick? I've started not feeling great as I first get up but as soon as I eat something I am fine. A symptom that I was really hoping to avoid though has hit me, acne. Yuck! I dealt with this bad enough through teen years and now its back!
Gender? Still several weeks before we'll know. The more I look at baby stuff the more I want a little boy. Time will tell though!
Labor Signs? nope
Wedding rings still on? yep!
Happy or Moody? Feeling better this week!
Looking forward to? Flu season to be over! Seriously people, don't send your sick kids to school! ;)

Here's what baby is up to this week!
  • You can't see it, but she's moving fluidly and gracefully in there.
  • Her skin is see-through, but she's on her way to looking more like a baby.
  • Her fingers and toes aren't webbed anymore.
  • Tooth buds, hair follicles and nail beds are forming.
I'll try to get a picture up of the belly tonight. Chris and I are going on a date so atleast I won't be in sweats! :)

Baby Wescoat: Week 10

How far along? 10 Weeks
Total Weight gain: 2 pounds
Maternity Clothes? No, I'm avoiding jeans though
Stretch marks? Nope
Sleep? I'm still having some weird dreams. Nothing about baby just strange!
Best moment from last week: Seeing our little one wiggle around in the ultrasound
Miss anything? soda and coffee. I'm pretty sure the soda thing is just in my head.
Movement? No, and after having my due date moved farther away I feel like I will never feel this little one move
Food cravings? Nothing specific, although I do feel like I voice my opinion on what sounds good more
Anything making me sick? No, still feeling great
Gender? Although I still would like a boy I think its going to be a girl
Labor Signs? none
Wedding rings still on? oh yes!
Happy or Moody? Moody, but not in the grouchy way just emotional vs. happy. Never know what its going to be.
Looking forward to? This one will most likely seem silly and ungrateful and I don't mean for it to be that way at all but I am SO looking forward to being 13 weeks along. When we found out that I wasn't as far along as we thought it was a big let down. Now that I am 10 weeks a long I feel like I've already "been there and done that." Now, like I said I am so thankful to have a healthy little one and can't wait to meet him/her!

My list.

Here is a list of 50 things I wanted to do as of last February. I'm pretty excited to be marking things off the list or at least feel like they are in progress.

Our second first date.

One year ago on Monday will be one year since we went on our second first date. :) Thinking back about the day and the emotions leading up to it is really pretty funny. We had only been talking to each other for a couple of weeks and Chris had been asking when we were going to meet up. I was totally dodging him but finally he talked me in to it. We planned to meet half way because at the time we were about 3 hours apart. We were meeting for lunch at Imo's (of course!) and I got there a few minutes early. I remember sitting there thinking that maybe he had something come up or he was standing me up and surprisingly I was totally ok with that. You see, I fell for Chris the first time we were together and I had no intention of letting that happen again. Well it turns out that Chris had been at the fire station and was just a few minutes late. As he pulled in to the parking lot and started to get out of his truck my stomach started to flip! I'll never forget the feeling I had as we hugged that (second) first time. Chris let out the sweetest sigh and I knew he was very pleased to have me in his arms. I remember thinking at that moment, uh oh, he's gonna get me again. We visited over lunch about the Sunday school class I had taught that morning and the night he had at the fire station. Side note: he came in his uniform, I think that was his plan from the beginning, he's seriously hot in his uniform. ;) We decided to go see a True Grit at the theaters that afternoon. So we walked around the outlet mall to kill time. Through talking to Chris in the weeks leading up to that day I knew something was different and he continued to show me that during our day. After the movie Chris suggested dinner and although I had my guard way up still I wasn't quite ready to say goodbye. We were at Lake of the Ozarks and the sun was beginning to set, it was a gorgeous evening. As we drove to dinner the truck was kind of quiet. It wasn't an awkward silence for me but I remember wondering if it was for him. So I asked him, he said no. It actually made me smile. We were both just happy to be in each others company. At dinner, looking over the lake and sitting side by side in the booth we talked more about how our family was and small talked some more. But then we talked about our relationship the first time and what went "wrong." Chris actually did most of the talking through dinner and he really did surprise me. He was so open and honest with me about everything. After dinner it was time to head back and get my car. We sat in the Imo's parking lot for a long time talking some more. The conversation was still mostly serious and even a bit deep. I remember telling my self as we started talking about heading home that I would not kiss this boy. (It was our first date, ya know) But, that sweet, handsome boy asked if he could kiss me and my heart melted. He got me again.

Maybe this story isn't really for the few readers of this blog, it's for me. I love thinking about that day and the other important stages from our quick changing last year. Chris is absolutely my best friend and soul mate. (Who else would put up with me, especially the pregnant, hormonal me?) I truly feel like Chris and I balance each other for the better.

Chris, thank you for an amazing year. You won my heart, married me, and now we're having a baby plus all of the wonderful little moments that fill in between the big ones. I love you!

Baby Wescoat: New Due Date

Sweet little baby at 9 weeks and 4 days. Heart rate of 150. :)

Chris and I had an appointment this morning for an ultrasound. It was so sweet! Our little one was very active, we could see the little arms and legs moving around. The heart beat was very easy to see as well and was beating at a rate of 150. The old wives tale would make it seem that we're having a girl. The little baby isn't quite as old as we thought though. I'm measuring at 9 weeks and 4 days rather than 11 weeks and 4 days. So my new due date is August 13. That does put me closer to the beginning of school which is kind of stressful but the fact that the little one is looking healthy is good enough for me!

It kind of makes me laugh that I feel like my stomach is showing so much already. The first picture I took was when I thought I was 9 weeks and 5 days which now means I was only 6 weeks and 5 days. Goodness! We also wouldn't have went so public with our news if we would have known that we weren't quite as far a long. Oh well though! It's fun having family and friends excited and knowing that they're praying for us is amazing as well.

Well, now I need to go update my dates on everything! :)

Be a blessing to someone today!
